The Absinthe Frappé is a refreshing and iconic cocktail that gained popularity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is closely associated with the consumption of absinthe, a highly alcoholic and anise-flavored spirit that was once banned in many countries due to its perceived hallucinogenic effects (though these claims have been largely debunked).
The Absinthe Frappé has historical significance as a popular way to enjoy absinthe, particularly during the late 19th century “Belle Époque” era in France and other parts of Europe.
