Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026. Effective: November 5, 2026.

Who we are and what this covers

Mixtropolis is a pre-launch project based in Fort Worth, Texas. In this policy, "Mixtropolis," "we," and "us" mean Mixtropolis and the people who run it.

This policy covers the Mixtropolis website at mixtropolis.com (the "Website") and the Mixtropolis mobile app (the "App"). Together they are the "Service." It explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Use.

Information we collect

On the Website

Sign-up forms. If you claim a profile as a hospitality professional, we collect your email address and name. If you save a spot as a diner, we collect your email address. We also record the date and time you submitted the form and which form you used.

Technical information. Our website host collects standard server logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, and the time of each request. These logs are used to run and secure the site.

The Website has no accounts and no sign-in. The profiles shown on the Website are examples, not real people.

In the App

Account information: your email address, and the type of account you choose (foodie or industry professional). If you sign in with Google, Google sends us the email address, name and profile photo of your Google account. We use the name and photo only to fill in a profile that doesn't have them yet; you can change or remove them at any time.

Profile and content: what you add to your profile, such as your name, role, workplace, city, bio, career history and links, and anything you post, such as mixes, notes, happenings and photos. Photos come from your photo library only when you pick one; Mixtropolis does not read your library otherwise. Photos and menus you upload are stored so they can be shown in the App and on the Website.

Location: during sign-up, if you allow it, the App reads your approximate location once to work out your city. We keep the city name, not your coordinates, and we never track your location afterwards. You can choose a city instead. Turning your location into a city name happens on your phone, through Apple's or Google's own service. If you ask to be told when Mixtropolis opens in your city, we keep the city you asked about.

Business cards: an industry professional can turn on a digital business card and choose the contact email and phone number shown on it. Those details are shown to people who have the card's link or whose request the professional approves. When you request someone's card, the professional receives your name, workplace, position, any note you add, and the email address you signed in with, and keeps them in their contact list.

Calendar: if you add a happening to your calendar, the App asks for permission to add events and creates that one event. It does not read your calendar.

Activity: who you follow, the places you save and mark as visited, and the reports and blocks you make.

Agreement records: when you agreed to our Terms and which version you agreed to.

Usage information: which screens you open and what you do in the App, such as completing sign-up, publishing a mix, saving a place or following a professional, together with your device model, operating system and app version. This is tied to your account's random ID, not to your name or email. We do not record your screen, your taps or anything you type.

Diagnostic information: crash reports with basic technical information about your device and the App version, used to find and fix problems. We do not send personal information with crash reports.

How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Confirm your Website sign-up and email you when the App opens, or when it opens in your city.
  • Create and secure your App account, and sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email or with Google.
  • Show your profile and content in the App and on the Website.
  • Deliver business cards and card requests.
  • Review happenings and reports, and enforce our Terms.
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
  • Keep the Service working and fix problems.
  • Contact you about your account or about Mixtropolis.

Emails that promote Mixtropolis include an unsubscribe link and our postal address. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. Emails about your account, such as sign-in codes, are sent as long as you have an account.

Who we share it with

Content you post to a public profile, mix or happening in the App is visible to other people who use the App and to visitors to the Website.

We use service providers to run the Service. They process information only to provide those services to us, under contracts that restrict how they use it:

These providers store information in the United States or where they operate.

Our team sees the reports you make (the reason, what was reported, and your account ID) so we can review them.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Mixtropolis or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of Mixtropolis, in which case this policy continues to apply.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Cookies and tracking on the Website

The Website sets one session cookie, used by our host to keep the page working during your visit. It does not identify you and is not used for advertising.

We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or chat widgets on the Website. If we add visitor analytics in the future, we will ask for your consent with a banner before any analytics loads, and we will update this policy to name the provider.

The Website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address when the font file is requested.

We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because we do not track visitors across sites. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

Website sign-ups. Every email we send you has an unsubscribe link. To be removed from our list entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email tringa@mixtropolis.com from the address you signed up with.

App accounts. You can edit your profile and content in the App. You can block other users and report content. You can delete your account yourself in the App, under Settings on the You tab. Your phone's Settings control the App's access to your location, photos and calendar.

Access, correction and deletion. Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email tringa@mixtropolis.com. We will confirm your identity by replying to the email address on file, and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. The categories we collect are listed in "Information we collect" above; we collect them directly from you and from your device. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other states. Where state privacy law gives you rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, or to opt out of targeted advertising, sale or profiling, you can exercise them by emailing tringa@mixtropolis.com. We do not engage in targeted advertising, sale or profiling. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our response, and we will answer the appeal within 60 days.

Outside the United States. The Service is operated from the United States and is intended for people in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

How long we keep information

Website sign-ups stay on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until 12 months after the App has launched in your city, whichever comes first. Server logs are kept by our host for 30 days.

App accounts. We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account, profile, mixes, happenings, business card, saved cards, follows and photos are removed within 30 days. We keep what we need for security, legal or abuse-prevention reasons, such as reports, for up to 2 years. Contact details you sent to a professional through their business card stay in that professional's contact list, and photos or menus you added to a place's page stay with that place. Usage and crash information is kept by those providers for a limited time under their standard retention periods.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls on our database, and private storage for uploaded photos. No service is completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

The Service is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, email tringa@mixtropolis.com.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version. If the changes are significant, we will post a notice on the Website and ask you to agree again in the App.
